Ken was born and raised in Gainesville, FL and attended Terwilliger, Ft Clarke and Buchholz prior to college. Following his parents' footsteps, Ken attended the University of Florida and earned his Master's degree with high honors from the Fisher School of Accounting. He lived in Atlanta for five years and after missing his son's birthday party decided that Alachua County was the place to raise his family. Ken has been married for over twenty-seven years to his wife Angela. Their two proudest accomplishments are their sons, Connor (24) and Chris (22).
As a small business owner, Ken has had the opportunity to own and operate a number of small businesses in Alachua County. Ken was trained as a Certified Public Accountant and is currently a Broker-Associate and Senior Vice President with Bosshardt Realty Services, LLC.
A big part of Ken's life has been dedicated to raising his two boys. Growing up, their passion was soccer, which led Ken to be actively involved in the development of Jonesville Park. Prior to his election, Ken served on the CAPP (Community Agency Partnership Program) board, graduated from the ACCESS (Alachua County Civic Education Series) progam and has served on a number of both private and non-profit boards.
Commissioner Cornell was elected to the Alachua County Commission in November 2014.
